BREAKING: Two Explosions at Boston Marathon Finish Line; Several People Injured, Lost Limbs, 2 Dead


Several people have been hurt in two explosions near the Boston Marathon finish line. According to WBZ, the two "incredibly powerful explosions" occurred "seconds apart" around 2:45pm (three hours after the winners crossed the finish line). Several people were reportedly missing limbs. Marathon officials say the explosions were the result of bombs, which you can clearly see in the video, below. There's a live feed from WBZ, above.

UPDATE 4pm EDT: Boston police officials have confirmed two people are dead and at least 23 more than 130 others were injured. According to the AP, a third explosion was heard about an hour after the first two at the JFK library. Police have confirmed the explosions were caused by bombs and are calling it a terrorist attack.

Update #2: All cellphone service had been shut down in the Boston area to prevent any potential remote detonations of explosives.

Update, #3: President Obama addressed the nation, pledging a full investigation to find out what happened and that individuals or groups responsible for what he called the “senseless” loss will “feel the full weight of justice.”

Update #4: The death count is now 3.
